Congratulations to Aqilah (6A3) for winning 3rd place in Malay Language Public Speaking competition after SMK Gelang Patah and SIGS in the Form Six Carnival. We didn't get any top places for petanque, bowling, the Malay Debate, and English language public speaking. Well, there's always next year. Hopefully we'll get some more talented and creative students this year when the lower six students register at Skudai later (so far no word yet on the registration date for the new batch). Hopefully we'll do better in next year's Form Six Carnival competitions.
Below is the picture showing the winners in the competition (English Sketch Team & Aqilah) with Pn Zawiah & Pn Lua in the middle.

Praise be to God.. finally all our efforts paid off. The English Sketch team managed to get second place after SMK Tasek Utara in the Form 6 Carnival - English Sketch Competition. We even managed to beat the host (SSI) - which goes to show that SMK Skudai students can be as good as those students from the more affluent schools if we really put in a lot of effort in whatever we do. I am especially proud of the team for doing their best within the limited time (planning, practising, preparing props in less than two weeks) and in between the PBS demands (other subjects presentation and assignments). Keep it up Skudai!

Tomorrow is the beginning date of the many competitions listed in the activities in the Form 6 Carnival. Wishing all SMK Skudai Form 6 students who are taking part in the competitions (bowling, public speaking and English Sketch) the very best of luck. I will be accompanying the English Sketch team to SMK Sultan Ismail tomorrow. I hope the students have practiced well and will perform their best tomorrow. Do us proud, ok!

Day 2 - two years on....!

Finally, here I am..  two years on! And this is only my second posting. That says a lot about my progress in using IT for communication...hah..hah. Oh dear, I hope I will be able to keep up with the latest trend in communication and be there in my students' 'world' (beyond school). Now that my timetable at school has changed (alas! I'm no longer teaching Chemistry  - goodbye my form 4 and form 5 science students; sadly I missed teaching Chem but life must go on!) - I can therefore focus on teaching English and dedicate my time and effort to connect with my Form 6 students in the cyber world - especially in helping them with the acquisition of English through communication. May the Almighty gives me the strength and inspiration to succeed in my endeavour, ameen.
